The free electric shuttle returns to Villa Bardini for garden visits

From April 19 to September 14, every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday. Three stops available.

The free electric shuttle service to Villa Bardini is back, making it easier to visit the stunning garden nestled within the ancient walls of Florence. The steep slope of the hillside, which spans four hectares of woodland, vegetable garden, and orchard, will no longer be an obstacle. This initiative is promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze and Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini e Peyron, in collaboration with Opera Laboratori Fiorentini.

The shuttle will run from April 19 to September 14, 2025, every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday (departures from via de Bardi start at 11:00 AM; the last return from Villa Bardini is at 5:30 PM, with a break between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM). There will be three stops: the terminus at via de Bardi, the Baroque Staircase stop, and the terminus at Villa Bardini. Priority will be given to families with children and elderly visitors. No reservations are required.

The garden tells the story of seven centuries of Florentine history and horticulture, from its origins as a Baroque garden in the 17th and 18th centuries to its Anglo-Chinese and Victorian transformations. Within this green oasis coexist three identities: the Italian-style garden with its magnificent baroque staircase, the English-style woodland with exotic features, and the agricultural park, where visitors can admire the famous wisteria pergola. The garden also features around 200 sculptures, thirteen fountains, a fountain wall, and three grottoes.
